The Oncidum and related orchid varieties known as the Dancing Lady Orchid are characterized by their rich yellow blooms, which feature lips that flare out, resembling the swirling dress of a skilled flamenco dancer. A well-grown plant can display multiple spikes with dozens of quarter-sized blooms on flower spikes measuring 3 to 5 feet tall, creating a magnificent display. While the individual flowers may not be large, their sheer quantity makes up for it, and when a breeze shakes the flower spike, the little ladies appear to dance.

This popular Dancing Lady Orchid is not shipped in bud or bloom, but the rich yellow blooms on very tall flower spikes, often 3 feet or more in height, are a sight to behold. The SD1 (Large seedling-size) plants are approximately 18 to 24 months away from reaching blooming size, making this Oncidium hybrid an excellent choice for new growers.

To grow the Dancing Lady Orchid successfully, water it about twice a week and provide bright, shady conditions, avoiding direct sunlight. The plant should be kept in a small pot until it outgrows the container, at which point it can be repotted. The best media for this orchid are fine bark for orchids or New Zealand Sphagnum Moss.

It is important to note that these plants are not shipped in bud or bloom, so customers should carefully review all the pictures in the listing to understand the condition and size of the plant they will be receiving.
